About Us

On July 1, 2024, the Maryland Bankers Association (MBA) and Virginia Bankers Association (VBA) formed the Mid-Atlantic Bankers Association (“the Holding Company”) to combine the MBA’s and VBA’s organizations and operations.

Both MBA and VBA are subsidiaries of the Holding Company, where the associations maintain their roles as the unified voices for banking in Maryland and Virginia, respectively.

The Holding Company provides an elevated focus for industry advocacy and member services platforms across Maryland and Virginia, as well as in D.C. via the D.C. Bankers Association (DCBA).

D.C. Bankers Association

Founded in 2023, the D.C. Bankers Association is the voice of the District’s banking industry, which is composed of 34 small, regional and large banks operating 183 branches and offices. Together, the D.C. banking industry employs approximately 4,768 people and safeguards $64 billion in deposits.
